Funding
 

  • Supports the State honoring their commitment to public education and student mental wellness as identified as priorities in the 86th session by continuing to fund Communities In Schools of Texas at the current level of $70.7 million for the biennium.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Funding regulations and rules should be developed, implemented, and reviewed before schools are expected to adhere to new requirements.

 

  • Instructional materials support should reflect current needs of schools, including funding for student devices and internet connectivity.

Accountability
 

  • Campus ratings for the 2020-2021 school year should be paused.

 

 

Higher Education

 

  • Continue to improve pathways for credential completion to meet regional industry needs through:

    • Establishment of a statewide dual-credit plan

    • Expansion of Career and Technical Education (CTE) dual-credit opportunities

 

 

 

 

 

Workforce Development
