PUBLIC POLICY

FROM YOUR SAN ANTONIO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce acknowledges the tremendous progress made last legislative session to support legislation and appropriations for: improved infrastructure; Pre-K; expanded career, technology, and trade programs in Texas public schools; higher education; improved access and affordability of healthcare, as well as sustaining and growing military missions and preserving economic development tools crucial to job creation. As business leaders, we also support recovery efforts and investment to address COVID-19, helping local communities create jobs and reinvigorate Texas’ robust economy. The Chamber supports legislative and/or regulatory actions that would protect the authority of municipalities and local government entities to address the unique needs of their communities, including eminent domain authority, which allows for the planning and development of private and public infrastructure for energy, water, transportation, and expanded multimodal transportation corridors.
